Social Media & Marketing Roundup: #2

Social Media Marketing Roundup Startups Entrepreneur

Quick News 'Bites'

(1)  Social Network for Professionals

Take a look at beBee, an exciting professional network with an interface much like TweetDeck.

Join bee 'hives' according to your interests, get to know new business connections, share and post new content.

It's FREE!

(2)  Power of the #Hashtag

If there is a hot, newsworthy event going on in your niche, create 1 relevant post, add #hashtag and tweet! 🔥

On Wednesday I posted a quote from Rebekah Radice and shared it on social media using the hashtag #INBOUND16 (a huge marketing event in Boston).  My tweet was liked X21 and retweeted X22 and won me a 'thank you' from Rebekah.

"So what? "

So I connected with a load of new people in my niche, increased my Twitter engagement and got on the radar of an influential social media expert.  And it cost me NOTHING!

(3)  New: Twitter Quick Replies and Welcome Messages

Last week Twitter announced these two new Direct Message features,

"...to help businesses create rich, responsive, full-service experiences that directly advance the work of customer service teams and open up new possibilities for how people engage with businesses in Twitter".

What do you think about these features?  A good thing or will it open the door to even more unsolicited messages?

Let me know in the comments box below!

DIGITAL Marketing

This week it was #INBOUND16, held by the amazing folks at HubSpot and Inbound.  Sadly it's an annual event that currently only takes place in the US so I've got no chance of attending (yet).

How to Get the Most out of your Content

However, this Keynote speech from Salma Jafri (Content Marketing Specialist and Speaker), was well worth sharing because she specialises in helping entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Instead of creating just one piece of content, learn how to 'upcycle' it so you can use it over and over again to maximise SEO, save time on creating new content and reach new prospective customers on different platforms.

VIDEO MARKETING

Wistia discuss the various benefits of using captions with videos.

According to Digiday, "85% views on Facebook happen with the sound off".  Using captions will get around this problem and will give your audience an insight into your video content.
